Women’s rights activist to Chacha over her failed marriage: “2 Years Ago You Made Us Look Like Liars, Here We Are Again”
Like many celebrities and Nigerians, women’s rights advocate Esther Ijewere responded to Nollywood actress Chacha Eke’s most recent post in which she said she was “done with her marriage.”
Esther Ijewere claimed that when the actress originally revealed her marriage was over two years ago, she made both her and other people look like liars.
Ijewere made this comment on Tuesday, June 28 in response to Chacha’s Instagram post after the 34-year-old revealed that her marriage to film director Austin Faani had ended for the second time in two years.
In the wee hours of Tuesday, the actress posted a startling message to her 4 million Instagram followers confessing to living a lie.
Esther responded to the message by writing:
“Go Away to Live! We told you the same thing two years ago. Put yourself and your children first, in the name of Jesus. No marriage is worth compromising your wellbeing. Your children require more of you. Please GO AWAY. We can only offer advice; the choice is ultimately yours. Chacha, put YOUR needs first because you made us appear like liars two years ago.
Chacha announced the dissolution of her marriage to Austin Fanni in October 2020 and detailed the attack she had suffered at his hands.
She later apologized, explaining that her bipolar disorder was to blame for the drama that had been surrounding her marriage at the time.
The mother of four later made a video in which she declared that she was still married to her husband and that she had no intention of divorcing him.
In 2013, Chacha and Austin were wed.
