Wizkid has won the Best African Artiste of the Year award at the 23rd Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, just days after losing out on Grammy nominations.
The Vodafone Ghana Music Awards were founded by CharterHouse in 1999 to honor Ghanaian performers and the growth of the music business in Ghana.
Wizkid, a Nigerian music sensation, competed in the same category as Tems, Ckay, Joeboy, and Fireboy DML, but none of them could beat Wizkid for the trophy.
Furthermore, the organizer used their official Twitter account to congratulate Wizkid on his new accomplishment. “Congratulations to @wizkidayo on winning Best African Artiste of the Year at the 23rd VGMAs #VGMA23,” the statement reads.
