With Christophe Galtier expected to replace Mauricio Pochettino as the head coach of Paris Saint-Germain

Mauricio Pochettino resigned after leading the team to a 15-point victory in the French championship; Real Madrid defeated PSG in the round of 16 of the Champions League; Christophe Galtier led Lille to the league championship in 2020–21 before joining Nice and guiding them to fifth place in the previous year.

The replacement for Mauricio Pochettino at Paris Saint-Germain is Christophe Galtier, the manager of Nice.

The former Tottenham and Southampton manager Pochettino left the organization despite leading PSG to the French championship with a 15-point victory margin, the highest margin of victory by a champion team in the top five leagues.

But in the end, it was PSG’s most recent loss in the Champions League—the matchup the Qatari owners so much want—that cost him his job.

With only 45 minutes remaining in their match against Real Madrid in the round of 16, PSG led 2-0 on aggregate. but were defeated by Karim Benzema’s 17-minute hat-trick in the second half.

Only the second manager in the club’s history to do so under the present ownership, Pochettino, was able to lead PSG to the semifinals the season before, but they were defeated by Manchester City.

Nice boss Christophe Galtier has been linked with a move to PSG

Manchester United explored hiring Pochettino from Ajax to fill the managerial vacancy left by interim Ralf Rangnick at the end of the season.

Galtier, 55, led Lille to the Ligue 1 championship in 2020–21 before moving on to Nice, who finished fifth in the French top division last season under his leadership.
