The Chicago State University has provided an explanation for why it is unable to provide details about Bola Tinubu, the APC’s presidential candidate, and the primary and secondary schools he attended.

According to Lauren Finch, a representative for Chicago State University, Tinubu’s academic records are protected by American privacy laws.

Tinubu graduated from Chicago State University on June 22, 1979, earning a degree in business and administration, the university confirmed in an email to Peoples Gazette.

“We have checked with our legal department and we can only give you the information we have already provided,” it states.

“MR TINUBU Graduated from our institution on June 22, 1979. ONLY HIS ENTRY AND GRADUATION DATES CAN BE PROMISED.

In an affidavit that he filed with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as part of his eligibility paperwork for the 2023 presidential elections, Tinubu made this claim.

It was reported that records made public by the electoral umpire last Friday showed Tinubu had not filled out the fields for his primary and secondary schooling.

However, Tinubu pointed out that he graduated from Chicago State University with a degree in business and administration in 1979.
