Nollywood actress Kemi Afolabi has responded to the contentious claim that she visited a well-known church to be healed of the lupus illness that she has been battling for months.

Since the actress is a Muslim, many on social media have questioned her devotion to Allah in response to a supposed photo of her that was included with the report.

Kemi denied the photo and the allegation, claiming that she is a devoted Muslim and that she has never sought healing in a church.

The contentious image of a woman receiving prayers from Pastor Chris Oyakhilome of Loveworld Incorporated, also known as Christ Embassy, has nevertheless persisted in making the rounds on social media.

The actress posted screenshots of the criticism she has recently faced on her Instagram page on Sunday along with the comment, “Since the news of my illness went public, I have had reports of various disinformation and false narratives out there. I’ve disregarded it since I’m so concerned with my health and wellbeing. I am a devoted Muslim who believes in praying to God and seeking His face in difficult times. I have done this continuously, and I know that there will be joy at the end of the journey.

“I particularly would like to use this platform to dispel such false narrative; there was never a moment when I went to a church for healing; the picture that is going around online is not of me; I ask that everyone ignore it.

I don’t need someone to communicate with Allah since I have personal contact with him. Love, Light, supplication, assistance, and serenity.
