According to the military governor of the area, a Russian airstrike on the city of Mykolaiv in southern Ukraine on Wednesday morning resulted in at least three fatalities and five injuries.

In other areas of Eastern Ukraine, Russian forces were aiming to encircle the crucial city of Lysychansk in the Luhansk region.

The pro-Russian rebels claimed that battle had already started within the city, while the Ukrainian military said that Russian troops were on the city’s southern outskirts.
