Despite Tammy Abraham’s key part in AS Roma’s UEFA Europa Conference League semi-final second-leg 1-0 victory over Leicester City on Thursday night, Jose Mourinho has given a reason why he does not rate the former Chelsea star.

Mourinho stated that he refused to praise Abraham because he believes the striker can improve, but that he is a wonderful player with even more potential.

Roma overcame Leicester in the Stadio Olimpico thanks to Abraham’s early goal, giving Mourinho’s team a 2-1 aggregate triumph after the first leg ended 1-1 in England.

On May 25, Roma will face Feyenoord in the final at the Air Albania Stadium.

“Tammy is well aware that I refuse to praise him. Because he knows he can do better,” Mourinho claimed during his post-match press conference.

“He’s a fantastic talent with even more potential.

“I’m not going to praise him!” He needs to put in this kind of effort in every game, not just when we’re playing Lazio or in a European Final!”
