Tyrell Malacia, a Dutch left back who joined from Feyenoord for £14.6 million, is the first new player at Old Trafford as Erik ten Hag’s Man United revolution FINALLY gets going
After completing his transfer to Manchester United, Tyrell Malacia praised Erik ten Hag as a “tremendous manager.”
On Tuesday, the Red Devils announced the acquisition of the Dutch full-back. Malacia, who joins United from Eredivisie team Feyenoord, agreed to a four-year contract. Malacia, who replaced interim manager Ralf Rangnick this summer, has moved to Old Trafford and has been the first signing of the Ten Hag. Malacia is ready for his first season in England.
Malacia’s contract can be extended by another year by United, and the deal is thought to have an initial cost of little less than £13 million.
Malacia said on the team’s website for the first time since completing his transfer: “Joining Manchester United is a fantastic experience. This is a new chapter for me; I’m playing in a new league with new teammates under a fantastic manager in Erik ten Hag.
“I am aware of the attributes he possesses and the standards he has for his players since I have faced his teams in the Eredivisie.
“While I am aware that I am still a young player and will continue to advance, I can assure the United supporters that I will give my all each time I put on the red shirt. I will always be grateful to Feyenoord for everything they have done for my family and me.
