Before he is sworn in on May 29, Nigerians have urged Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the country’s incoming president, to get started right away.
According to DAILY POST, Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for president, won the election by defeating Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP), and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
Professor Mahmood Yakubu, the head of the Independent National Electoral Commission, gave Bola Ahmed Tinubu a Certificate of Return as president-elect earlier on Wednesday (INEC).
The fact that the winner was not from the North, according to Simon Adereti, a distributor of building materials, who spoke with DAILY POST on Wednesday in Osogbo, was fortunate for him.
“My prayer has been heard, because a guy from the South has finally been elected president. I only hope that as he governs, he keeps the needs of the populace in the back of his mind.
Trader Dorcas Ayoola said that she was concerned that despite the division brought forth by the election, peace was ultimately achieved.
The division was excessive. Nigerians were split along racial and religious lines. If so, we will go through this every four years. Then, that is bad.
“These politicians ought to be aware that it’s just a game and that it serves as a civic exercise for the public. Nobody is forcing us to vote, but we view it as a responsibility we must fulfill in order for our nation to advance,” she said.
Despite having his preferred candidate for the presidency, POS operator Alexander Omolola expressed his happiness that the anxiety and drama surrounding the election were past.
These politicians wouldn’t ignite a firestorm in Nigeria. All I want to do right now is get back to work without incident. I’m sick of all this nonsense.
“The lack of money has hurt my business, but now that the election is over, I’m hoping things will improve and we can get back to our regular life.
He said, “Let the politicians play their games while I take care of business.
The state has been in a celebratory atmosphere, especially among APC members.
Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s jubilant supporters flocked outside to celebrate when INEC Chairman Professor Mahmood Yakubu revealed the results of the presidential election on Wednesday.
A former Special Assistant to the Osun State Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Rasak Adeosun hailed the triumph as a child of necessity for ‘a man whom the cap fits’.
According to Adeosun, Tinubu’s election as president-elect has revived the people’s optimism for a brand-new Nigeria and the realization of the mantra of Renewed Hope.
“His rise signifies growth, development, and the reduction of poverty, as he is a man who has accomplished these things in a specific region of the nation and we are confident that he will spread prosperity throughout the nation.
“We are ready for the upcoming House of Assembly election, I want to assure you of that. With God’s grace, we are winning and we are prepared, he continued.
