The mother of an All Progressives Congress (APC) bigwig and Kano Central Senatorial candidate, A. A. Zaura, has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen.
SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the event.
He claimed that the elderly victim, Hajia Laure Mai Kunu, was kidnapped and taken to an unknown location in the early hours of Monday.
He claimed that a squad of cops had been dispatched to apprehend the offenders and save the victim.
Kiyawa urged the public to assist security services by providing any important information that could lead to the suspects’ arrest.
Engr. Abdullahi Garba Ramat, Chairman of Ungogo Local Government, also confirmed the incidence to Sololoaded.
Hajia Laure was abducted at her home in the Rangaza ward of Zaura village, Ungogo Local Government, Kano State, he added.
