Austin “Jay Jay” Okocha, a former coach of the Super Eagles, has been dubbed the greatest football player ever by Augustine Eguavoen.
This was Eguavoen’s response to FIFA’s tweet asking who the greatest football player ever was.
The former Nigerian international stated Okocha was better than Ronaldinho, a great in Brazilian football.
Who is the best-skilled player to have ever played the “beautiful game?” FIFA tweeted. Okocha Jay wasn’t all that horrible.
He was so amazing that they had to mention him twice.
Definitely Jay-Jay, Eguavoen retorted. Ronaldinho follows closely behind.
When they were teammates at Paris Saint-Germain, Ronaldinho and Okocha were rated differently in the world of football.
Before coming home, the Brazilian played for Barcelona and other elite European clubs, where his playing career came to an end.
Okocha represented Nigeria in three World Cups and wowed audiences each time. At the club level, he was also entertaining to watch, but he didn’t achieve many club honors.
Many football fans have argued about his club career, but even the uninterested fan cannot dispute the breadth of his skill set.
