The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, is alleged to have manipulated the presidential election results in favor of Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, according to Rev. Fr. Kelvin Ugwu, a Nigerian missionary priest working in Gambia.

Recall that Tinubu was proclaimed the winner of the February 25 presidential election by INEC. Also, on Wednesday, the electoral body gave him the certificate of return.

The Nigerian priest, however, insisted that Nigerians did not elect him and urged foreigners to cease congratulating the nation on its new president.

On Thursday, Ugwu made the claim in a post on his verified Facebook profile.

He asserted that Tinubu was installed as the next president by the INEC.

Friends from other countries should cease applauding us on our elections, he said. He was not chosen by us. What we have is an old man who has mastered the skill of stealing and manipulating his way to the top from the beginning, and he thought that the president was the last theft he needed to commit before passing away.

“Technically, we have a president who was chosen by the Independent National Electoral Commission” (INEC). I don’t say president-elect like the rest of you because I haven’t seen how Nigerians voted for him. He is their President-erect, but the erection is temporary.
