In a letter of congratulations to Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, the Governor of the state of Anambra, Chukwuma Soludo, asked for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

In a press release issued by his press secretary, Christian Aburime, Soludo praised Tinubu for winning the recently held presidential election in the nation and urged the former governor of Lagos State to release Kanu as soon as Tinubu takes office, assuming the Biafra agitator has not already been freed.

The former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria asserts that Nnamdi Kanu must be present at the table as a key participant in negotiations regarding reconciliation and long-term peace in the South East geopolitical region.

In addition to congratulating the newly elected governors, Soludo urged them to collaborate under the direction of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF) in order to advance the interests of the country as a whole.

The general elections in Nigeria in 2023 are over, according to Soludo. The majority of Anambra’s elections were peaceful, and for that I applaud all of the contestants, as well as the security services, Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC, and the electorate.

“Although we applaud INEC on the completion of the general elections successfully, it is crucial to underline that, as we move toward a more ideal system, we must seriously continue to reform and strengthen our electoral procedures and citizens’ political involvement.

“In my opinion, the real winners of the most recent elections are Nigerians, particularly the youth, whose voices will continue to be crucial as we all work to create a new Nigeria. Nigeria has triumphed, and I have faith that a brighter future is in store for us. Congrats to everyone from Nigeria!

“I also commend Tinubu’s main rivals for their valiant and outstanding performance. Nigeria needs to be repaired and restructured, and the economy’s and insecurity’s core difficulties are still enormous. For the development of Anambra state and Nigeria, we promise to work together and as partners with you and the Federal Government.

“We must make this country, which we exclusively refer to as ours, operate. The problem of systemic insecurity in the South East is one crucial topic to which we must urgently bring your attention. Even while our efforts with the security agencies are producing notable achievements, we think that more extensive non-kinetic contacts with all important players will improve long-term peace and security. In this regard, I would want to reiterate my previous comments and ask Tinubu to release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu as soon as he becomes office (that is, if he is not released before then).

“We extend a heartfelt congratulations to our newly elected colleagues, the governors-elect. Let’s collaborate to achieve the national common good, especially under the aegis of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF). We extend our congratulations to the newly elected representatives to the National and State Assemblies.

We also extend our gratitude to the millions of Nigerians who participated in the election by casting ballots for APGA candidates everywhere in the nation. By taking seats in the Senate, House of Representatives, and state assemblies around the nation, we have made small progress.

“We will continue to portray our social-progressive agenda as the direction for the nation as we strengthen and reform our party. Our party will continue to network and engage with all similarly minded Nigerians and organizations to advance the greatness of this nation because we firmly believe in Nigeria’s potential.

“I wish to praise God Almighty for bestowing upon us His unfailing love and grace. The hardworking Anambra natives and residents, the church, traditional leaders, ASATU, youth and women’s organizations, traders, transporters, businessmen and women, professionals, captains of industry, CSOs, etc. are all deserving of our gratitude for their continued support of my government and APGA in the state.

“You have shown that Anambra is truly APGA-land once more!”
