The late Argentina hero, Diego Maradona, has been named by former Uruguayan goalkeeper Jorge Serro as the only football player who is superior to Lionel Messi of Paris Saint-Germain.

The Greatest Of All Time (GOAT) argument was formerly dominated by Maradona and Brazil’s Pele, two legendary players who dominated the game in their own eras, before Messi and Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo entered the picture.

Serro, though, asserted that Maradona was virtually invincible in his playing days.

During a conversation with El Litoral, Serro remarked, “Diego was the finest thing I have ever seen.”

“I wasn’t around when Pele was in his prime, but I was Diego’s age. Pele was excellent from what I saw of him, but Maradona was simply untouchable.

“Messi is currently the best in the world,” he continued. Do you get what I’m saying? I’m going to stay with Diego, and I believe Messi does too. If you were to ask Messi if he would rather be himself or like Maradona was, he would say the latter. Messi edges both Mbappe and Cristiano (Ronaldo). Diego, but not anyone else.
