The Lagos chapter of the Labour Party (LP) has reaffirmed its willingness to contest the All Progressives Congress’ (APC’s) victory in the March 18 governorship election in Lagos State.

According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has been named the election’s victor, according to Naija News.

The first-place finisher, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the LP, was defeated by the incumbent governor.

At a press conference on Tuesday, LP Chairman in Lagos Dayo Ekong responded to Gbadebo’s defeat by insisting that Sanwo-victory Olu’s was just temporary.

Pastor Ekong claimed that the elections breached democratic standards by attacking supporters and operatives of the opposition parties.

She said that threats and acts of violence disrupt elections throughout the state.

“Ballot boxes were stolen, burned, and other bad things occurred. No credibility existed.

We’ll look for a remedy because it wasn’t free. We will do all it necessary to obtain justice, Ekong declared.

She stated that the harsh attacks on some LP members would be the subject of petitions from the party to INEC, the police, and the military.

The LP leader pointed out that if the election is not challenged, it would create a negative precedent.

Many lost their lives, and they were prevented from carrying out their civic duties. There were no findings from more than 1,000 units in Alimosho, Eti-Osa, or Ibeju-Lekki.

This election is fraudulent. Violence ruined the election! In spite of our reports during the previous election, nothing was done.

“I’m here to let you know, Mr. Gbaje, that as the REC, you’ve failed the youths. You have let the majority down, and you haven’t acted morally, she continued.
