Without a question, Afrobeats is now a worldwide renowned music genre, and Nigerian artists have been putting the country’s name on the map.

One example of Afrobeats’ popularity is a recent video that surfaced online of a stadium full of fans in Qatar singing and dancing to Rema’s song, Calm Down.

Remember that the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup began on November 20th, 2022 and will conclude on December 18th, 2022. As of the time of writing, countries competing in the World Cup are already in the knockout stages, with some having already returned to their respective countries after being eliminated in the group stages.

Kizz Daniel and his colleague Patoranking were recently invited to the FIFA Fans Festival celebration. It was a fantastic display of Afrobeat at its finest.

Rema is one of the fastest-rising young Afrobeat performers of his generation; to touch on Divine’s international exposure during the last three years, at least one of his tunes has constantly appeared on former US President Barack Obama’s yearly music playlist.

Rema expressed his excitement by sharing a video of the moment supporters went wild to his Calm Down song and wrote, “World Cup stadium, woke up glad #afrobeats.”
