The news that Bola Tinubu, the incoming president of Nigeria, has apparently traveled to Europe for medical treatment after becoming ill has been met with contradictory views.

According to a story published on Wednesday by Sahara Reporters, Tinubu fell ill on Saturday and left for Europe on Tuesday night.

The former governor of Lagos State reportedly began receiving therapy in Nigeria before deciding to move to Europe for better medical care.

The platform claimed, citing an authoritative source, that Tinubu became ill as a result of the “hectic” electioneering that resulted in his elevation to the position of “President-elect” and the tension that developed prior to the March 18 Lagos State governorship and House of Assembly elections, in which he also cast his vote.

After the event, numerous Nigerians have reacted to the news that Tinubu has left the country to take care of his health after winning the election on the microblogging service Twitter.
