Born on August 22, 1993, Raymond Shaban Mwakyusa is a Tanzanian singer, composer, and recording artist better known by his stage name Rayvanny. He was signed to the WCB Wasafi record company until July 2022. He was raised in the Mbeya Region’s Nzovwe Ward in Mbeya City. He is the most well-known bongo flava performer from the Mbeya region of Tanzania. He founded Next Level Music and serves as its CEO. Most people are familiar with Rayvanny thanks to the song “Kwetu,” which made him famous. MTV Base listed Rayvanny as one of its “Acts To Watch Out For” in 2017.
Rayvanny works with Maluma on the song “Mama Tetema” in November 2021. The RIAA awarded “Mama Tetema” the Disco de Oro designation in 2022.
