Ras Kwame was born in Hammersmith, London, and relocated to Ghana when he was 11 years old. After finishing his A-levels, he moved back to London and enrolled at the City of London Polytechnic to study economics.
In the early 1990s, he got his start in the music business as a club DJ spinning hip hop, R&B, and reggae.
