Steven Gerrard, the manager of Aston Villa, has claimed that Kylian Mbappe of Paris Saint-Germain may be rethinking his choice to reject Real Madrid.
Remember that despite being highly chased by Real Madrid for quite some time, Mbappe just decided to extend his stay with PSG.
This summer, Real Madrid was the frontrunner to sign the France international.
Mbappe, on the other hand, rejected a move to the Santiago Bernabeu and renewed his contract with Paris Saint-Germain until 2025.
And Gerrard believes the Frenchman is already second-guessing himself.
“He (Mbappe) is for sure thinking he’s a little bit wealthier!” But, in his quiet moment tonight, if he’s watched that game [Liverpool vs Real Madrid], I think he’ll think to himself, ‘I’ve just turned down the chance to join a club that has won 14 European Cups,’ and they’ll be back because they recruit quality players,” Gerrard stated on BT Sport.
“They (Real Madrid) have the know-how; they have the desire to win it; they will win more,” he added. They have clout, don’t they? They have clout all over the world. In the game, they’re a colossus.
“They have a lot of clout in terms of recruitment.”
