Bola Tinubu, the president-elect, has formed a committee to mediate disputes with other presidential contenders who ran in last Saturday’s poll.
The All Progressives Congress, APC, elders who make up the committees, according to Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, would “shortly begin to meet with co-contestants of the President-elect in an effort to alleviate their loss in the just concluded Presidential Election.”
With 8,794,726 votes, Tinubu of the APC defeated Atiku Abubakar of the PDP, who received 6,984,520 votes, Peter Obi of the Labour Party, LP, who received 6,101,533 votes, and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, who received 1,496,687 votes.
But, Akeredolu emphasized that last Saturday’s presidential election was not rigged in a statement released by his chief press secretary, Richard Olatunde.
Part of the statement states, “The President-elect has established committees to speak with the guys who ran for office so that we may begin the healing process.
“I am a member of a committee. We’re going to talk to them and try to convince them to cooperate.
