Blessing Mba, a 27-year-old mother of two, has been reported missing after she was allegedly brutally assaulted by CSP Ige Adekunle, Divisional Police Officer of the Adeeke Police Station in Iwo, Osun State.

According to reports, Blessing and her sons left their Iwo home on Sunday night and went to the Adeeke police station.

Blessing had been invited to the Osun State Police Command offices in Osogbo on Sunday, according to SP Yemisi Opalola, a spokesman for the agency.

She claims that Blessing eluded police while they were accompanying her to Osogbo so she could meet with the police commissioner.

Blessing reportedly hurriedly left her home with one of her sons while toting a bag on Sunday night at 9:30 p.m.

All attempts to locate Blessing have failed, and no one has been able to contact her at her phone number.

According to a Daily Post exclusive, Blessing was allegedly brutally assaulted on May 31, 2022, by a team of police officers acting on the orders of the Divisional Police Officer.

She told the Daily Post that the event happened on Monday as she was looking for her 15-year-old son, who had not come home and was found to be being held by the police.

Blessing claimed to have been in the police station when an officer known only as Apápá assaulted her and called her a “sacrifice” for bringing it to the station.

Blessing claimed that while she was crying for her life until she passed out, the officers threatened her, saying, “We will kill you, shoot you, and nobody will ask of you.”

She said, “They poured water on me, and I awoke.”

In an interview with the media, Blessing claimed that the DPO, Adekunle, gave her N2,000 as she left the hospital and another N2,000 later that day.

Blessing claimed that after she moved to report the incident to the Police Area Command in Iwo, the DPO subsequently handed her N15,000 and took her back to the hospital to rehabilitate her leg.

Under the condition of anonymity, some local sources informed the newspaper that they absolutely fear the DPO and his police in the neighborhood.

Another attempt to conceal the case was unsuccessful.

One Comrade Ibrahim Nurudeen, who identified himself as a member of Advocacy for Justice and a human rights activist, begged this medium to retract the story on the victim’s abuse by the DPO and accused the woman of going out to talk to a reporter.

The renowned campaigner claims that he instructed the Area Command to keep the case open for further inquiry or legal action. He added that Blessing, not the DPO, was the target of an attack by unidentified police officers.

“We instructed Area Command to keep the case open. I have the results of all the victim’s medical tests, and I made sure the DPO covered the cost of her care, he claimed.

According to sources, Nurudeen requested the woman on Sunday. Three guys arrived at Blessing’s house on Sunday night, according to an eyewitness who spoke to the media, claiming to be from a non-governmental organization that advocates for its members.

The well-known activist denied knowing anything about her cause when questioned.

“I was looking for her on Sunday, and it’s true, but I only have a question for her about how the rumor spread. I am unaware of her disappearance, he insisted.
