Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party, chastised his backers for putting his name on a prayer mat.
In a tweet posted on his Twitter account, Peter Obi said that the action was misguided and had nothing to do with his campaign team.
Since becoming the Liberation Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi has appeared in numerous campaign materials.
Obi, though, insisted on Friday that he respects Islam and does not agree with the behavior.

“Despite having the best of intentions, a support group made a mistake by placing my photo on the praying mat. It wasn’t a product of my campaign staff. I have a great deal of respect for all religions, including Islam.
“We will never make fun of anyone’s gender, race, or religion. He tweeted, “We are one Nigeria.
