On June 30, Omoba Abiodun Ogidan, the director-general of Asiwaju Volunteers, described a conversation he had with Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate when they were both traveling.

On his Facebook page, he stated:

“Peter and I had a lengthy conversation while we were seated on my way back. I introduced myself as DG Asiwaju Volunteers, and he told me he valued my candor and that Nigeria needed individuals like me.

Further expressing himself in the post’s comment area, Ogidan said that his meeting with Obi did not alter his steadfast support for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC’s presidential candidate.

He said: “I suppose everyone is entitled to their views and preferences, but Peter Obi told me that if everyone supported him, he would be dissatisfied because then there would be an autocrat rather than a democracy. Despite this, I am totally Beatified and still respect Obi.

“I comprehend the goals of the Obi movement, but when all is said and done, everyone will realize that Asiwaju is necessary. Keep in mind that everyone has requirements and wants; for example, we all want huge automobiles yet require Uber to get around. Stay blessed.

Nigerians have responded to the photo that Ogidan put on his page.
