After much teasing, Odunsi has finally released his highly awaited debut album, Rare. The CD contains 13 tracks, including the famed “Alté Cruise” as a bonus track.
Odunsi creates music that is impossible to dislike, because to its great blend of afrobeat, funk, 80’s R&B, and synth-pop influences. This record, if anything, reinforces Odunsi’s status as an old spirit stuck in a millennial’s body. Artists such as Ralph Tresvant, Sade, Asa, Prince Okotie, and Prince have influenced him greatly.
