The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader Nnamdi Kanu issued a call for calm and peace in “Biafraland” after his most recent bail application was denied. Nollywood actress Rita Edochie responded.

It should be recalled that Justice Nyako postponed the pro-Biafra activist’s case until 14 November 2022 in order to await the Appeal Court’s ruling.

This comes after the Biafra activist submitted a new application seeking his release on bail while the Federal Government decided whether to pursue the treasonable felony charge it had filed against him. However, the matter was rejected on Tuesday when it was scheduled for the hearing.

Kanu, the Indigenous People of Biafra’s leader, is being tried for allegedly leading an illegal organization, treason, and bail skipping.

In response to the development, Rita Edochie posted a video of Nnamdi Kanu pleading with his supporters to remain calm in court earlier today via her Instagram account.

In the video, Nnamdi Kanu is heard expressing his desire for peace throughout the entire region and stating that he is fighting to protect the people, not to murder them.

“LISTEN TO ONYE NDU ANYI,” she said in the video’s caption. NNAMDI OKWU KANU MAZI.

“HE IS BEING DETAINED FOR THE REASON THAT WE ARE FIGHTING TO DEFEND OUR PEOPLE, NOT TO KILL THEM. Therefore, STOP KILLING UNDER THE SUSPENSION OF IPOB. You’re doing fine, my great brother. I adore you.
