Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, is in urgent need of heart surgery, according to IPOB.

According to IPOB, Kanu needs to be sent immediately to a specialized hospital where he can receive the necessary medical care for his failing health.

The concern was made by the separatist group’s spokesperson, Emma Powerful, who also bemoaned Kanu’s declining health.

Powerful claimed that on February 27, 2023, the IPOB leader was taken in an emergency to a Department of State Services, DSS, clinic in Abuja that was ill-equipped.

Powerful claimed in a statement that the Nigerian and British governments were working together to murder Kanu.

The message says, in part, “The attention of the worldwide movement and family of the Indigenous People of Biafra has been alerted to the continuous decline in health of our Leader, Kanu, who was taken to a DSS clinic in Abuja on Monday, February 27, 2023 due to a medical emergency.

We are aware that the Nigerian government and her DSS, along with the British High Commissioner in Abuja, had plans to assassinate Mazi Nnamdi Okwuchukwu Kanu while he was being held in solitary confinement by the DSS, but they also need to be prepared for the repercussions.

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, our leader, is in dire need of medical attention and is now being held in solitary confinement by the DSS. He needs to be released immediately and without conditions.

The Nigerian government must take the necessary action, according to IPOB, to prevent “bad consequences that may follow.”
