Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s candidate for president, claimed that Nigeria is experiencing weak leadership and that a crisis may be on the horizon.

Obi called for a switch from the sharing formula to the production formula on Tuesday, June 28, while visiting the leadership of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) in Abuja, saying that the ruling class is not giving the population the finest treatment.

The presidential contender urged organized labor to work with the party in shaping the future of Africa’s most populous country, noting that no one could become president of Nigeria without supporting them and other organizations.

Nigeria is not a nation that produces. The culmination of our current problems is poor leadership.

“It is a leadership style that emphasizes sharing. The sharing formula must give way to the producing formula. We are going to experience a crisis because every one of our young people who should be working isn’t.
