Rio Ferdinand, a legend at Manchester United, feels that winger Jadon Sancho has been “publicly embarrassed” by manager Erik ten Hag.
Remember that Sancho, in response to Ten Hag’s criticism of his level of training at the club, is currently working out separately from Man United’s first squad.
After Man United’s 3-1 loss to Arsenal in the Premier League at the Emirates Stadium, when Sancho had chosen not to even go with the team to North London, Ten Hag had chosen to openly express his displeasure with the player.
When Sancho will resume working out with the first team is still unknown.
Ferdinand is worried that the England star is now helpless to return, though.
Ferdinand asked on Vibe with Five, “What has happened for me to be kicked out of the squad? Is there a private issue between the player and manager? Or does he actually not train the way the coach wants him to?
He has tried everything to help Jadon Sancho perform at his best. Jadon, I believe, would agree that he hasn’t yet lived up to the billing and the anticipation.
“The manager has said, ‘This is my last chance,’ and I can’t get anything else out of him so I’ll make it public and see if that public humiliation and his pride are pressed enough where he goes, “I’m not having this,” and “I’m coming back with a performance,” “I’m not having this,” and “I’m coming back with a performance.”
“He did it to Rashford,” he continued. When he was at his peak, he was our talisman and the source of all of our goals. The manager told him to sit on the bench since he was late, to which many would respond, “Oh, it was just a meeting.” You are thinking, “hold on a minute, I am the man here,” as you feel pressure from your ego, pride, and further demands. It worked out for him because if Man United had lost, the commotion would have been too loud after the game.
Sancho moved from Borussia Dortmund to Man United in 2021 in a £73 million transfer.
