Nigerian singers Davido, Wizkid, Tems, Fireboy, and Burna Boy have all been nominated for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People Awards 2023.

The artists were nominated in the ‘Outstanding International Song’ category in the nominations list issued on Thursday.

Tems’ “No Woman, No Cry,” one of the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever theme songs, Wizkid’s “Bad To Me,” Burna Boy’s “Last Last,” Shenseea, Fireboy DML, and Chris Brown’s “Diana,” and Davido ft. Sunday Service Choir were all nominated.

Beyoncé and Kendrick Lamar both received five nominations in the music recording categories.

“This year’s nominees have conveyed a wide range of authentic stories and diverse experiences that have resonated with many in our community, and we’re proud to recognize their outstanding achievements and performances,” NAACP President and CEO Derrick Johnson said in a statement, as quoted by the Hollywood Reporter.

In terms of corporate nominations, ABC leads with 28, followed by Netflix with 15.

For the first time in three years, the NAACP Image Awards will be broadcast live in front of an audience on BET on Saturday, February 25 at 8 p.m. ET.

The public can vote on this year’s Image Awards winners through February 10 on the Image Awards website.
