Strange Habeeb Okikiola, also known as Portable in Nigeria, has at last honored the police’s invitation over an alleged assault.

On June 20, the Ogun State Police Command gave the musician the order to report to any of the stations in the state or face arrest. This was in response to a viral video that showed the musician ordering some youngsters to assault a young man and cause him bodily harm.

As directed, Portable reported on Wednesday to the command’s headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta.

According to a statement released on Thursday by the state police command’s spokeswoman, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, Portable arrived at Eleweran with his father and manager at around 5 p.m. on June 29.

“The commissioner of police, CP Lanre Bankole, immediately ordered that he be transported to the public complaint bureau office, where he was questioned about his involvement in the assault shown on camera against the young kid.

However, because the crime was one that could be covered by bail and because the state’s civil servants had begun a strike that also affected our courts, the suspect was released to a trustworthy surety who agreed to produce him whenever he was required. Abimbola, a police spokesperson, said.
