The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries has refuted rumors that Pastor Lazarus Muoka, the church’s general overseer, and Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, have received support from the organization.

On social media, there were rumors that Pastor Lazarus was backing Peter Obi.

Pastor Louis Chidi, the church’s director of public relations, stated in a statement that neither the church nor its general overseer had made any statements in favor of or against any political party.

Our attention has been drawn to posts that our General Overseer, Pastor Lazarus Muoka, is credited with making on some social media platforms. These posts were meant to paint him and the Church, the Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries, as being politically inclined and sympathetic to a particular political party and its candidate.

“We want to make it clear that neither our General Overseer nor the Church has ever endorsed or opposed any person or political party, and neither has any reason to get involved in politics.

Therefore, we would like to emphasize unequivocally that our General Overseer is not the source of any such publication or viewpoint. Instead, the enemy has done that (in accordance with Matthew 13:24–30),” it declared.
