Let’s stop being ignorant and embrace our Nigerian accent- Mary Njoku slams those who insult those with Nigerian accent
Mary Remmy Njoku, a Nollywood actress, has questioned why Nigerians refer to people who speak with Nigerian accents as “locals.”
According to the actress/producer, foreigners in Nigeria speak English with an accent but are not ashamed of it, whereas Nigerians feel embarrassed to speak with an accent.
She urged Nigerians to embrace their native accents and save foreign accents for trips abroad.
Remember how Nollywood actress and filmmaker Mary Remmy Njoku advised women to change their mindset towards thanking their partners for home chores and childcare?
Mary emphasized that the children are also his and that both partners are responsible for keeping the house clean; these obligations should not be allocated to one partner alone.
She went on to say:
“A family member emptied their plate after eating.” And his wife was showering him with praise for aiding HER. HIS VERY OWN PLATE!
We are the cause of our own problems.”
