Ameerah Safiyanu, also known as Ameerah Sufyan, has been granted bail by the Magistrate Court in Wuse, Abuja.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command filed a false kidnap alert allegation against the Twitter user.

After a lengthy search, Ameerah was found on June 17; at the time, Nigerians were criticizing the government and security forces for the deteriorating security.

The citizen stated that she and 16 other Abuja residents were taken hostage and taken to a jungle under the threat of gunfire.

Ameerah claimed that on June 14 men dressed as police officers kidnapped the victims, which included three pregnant women and two youngsters.

The defendant was granted bail by the court on Wednesday due to mental health concerns.

Following the verdict are angry replies, with one Twitter user claiming Ameerah might get away with murder.
