Ojo Arowosafe, also known as Fadeyi Oloro in Nollywood, passed away at age 66.

The Ekiti-born actor, who became well-known in the 1980s and late 1990s for his iconic herbalist role, passed away on Tuesday night after a protracted struggle with kidney-related illnesses among other things.

Last month, after receiving a six-month eviction notice for unpaid rent, the Yoruba cinema legend appealed Nigerians for assistance through his son during a live Instagram session with well-known OAP Daddy Freeze.

Arowosafe’s treatment and other unpaid costs were then covered by a N3 million donation from Nigerian pastor Tobi Adegboyega of Salvation Proclaimers Anointed Church, who is based in the UK.

Fadeyi Oloro, who was born on September 15, 1957, in Igbara Odo, Ekiti, rose to fame in the cinematic age for his villainous performances in Yoruba films and his vivacious recital of chants and incantations.
