The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chapter in Lagos State had narrowed the field of candidates for Alhaji Abdulaziz Olajide Adediran, also known as Jandor, to five individuals. Adediran is the party’s nominee for governor.

Nollywood actress Funke Akindele, former governorship candidate Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, former senatorial candidate for Lagos East Yeye Shobajo, another candidate for governor named David Kolawole Vaughan, also known as DAKOVA, and engineer Teslim Balogun were among the names that made the shortlist, according to Daily Trust.

As was to be predicted, the announcement divided social media users, with some praising the new political movement in Nollywood and others denouncing it.

Following the announcement of five names as probable running mates for the party’s governorship candidate, Alhaji Abdulaziz Olajide Adediran, also known as Jandor, Funke Akindele became the favorite in a recent update.

Hon. Otaigbe Imadegbelo, a political strategist and Twitter user, provided confirmation of this in a message he shared.

“FUNKE AKINDELE IS JANDOR’S RUNNING MATE FOR LAGOS PDP.”
