Ifeanyi Ejiofor, the chief lawyer for Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, claims that his client’s health has deteriorated.

Ejiofor claimed that his client had been diagnosed with a stomach sickness during his routine visit to Kanu in the custody of the Department of State Services.

The lawyer then asked Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court in Abuja to grant his client permission to seek medical attention.

“At the moment, Onyendu is suffering from gastrointestinal sickness, which demands the daily consumption of antacid and other medicinal remedies owing to constant heartburn,” he explained.

“Unfortunately, the DSS has refused him even the most insignificant amount of painkiller pills that could provide temporary relief.”

“In response to this situation, our erudite lead counsel, Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN), sprang into action to put an end to this cruelty and impunity.”

“However, we believe it is still vital to alert the world that if something untoward occurs to Onyendu, the DSS and the Federal Government of Nigeria must be held accountable,” he added.

“Court orders must be followed, particularly if the Order has not been set aside.” The DSS is a legal creation that should not be considered to act above the laws that created it.
