Money Danlandi, a guy from Ondo State, has been charged with murder for allegedly killing his friend over a woman.
Money Danlandi, a farm laborer, was remanded in detention by an Ondo Chief Magistrates’ Court in Akure after reportedly stabbing his friend, Sunday Babaji, to death over a woman.
Danlandi was charged with one count of murder in court after being suspected of perpetrating the crime in Badokun Camp via Ode-Aye in the State’s Okitipupa Local Government Area.
Danlandi committed the offense on May 9, 2022, at about 9 p.m., according to the prosecution’s Inspector Nelson Akintimehin.
According to Sololoaded, the deceased, who was 25 years old, was fatally stabbed in the chest with a knife.
According to the prosecution, the crime violates Section 319(1) of the Criminal Code, Cap 37, Vol. 2, Laws of Ondo State, 2016.
Danlandi pleaded not guilty to the accusation in court without representation, but the court refused to accept his plea.
Akintimehin requested that the defendant be detained in the state’s detention facility pending the Director of Public Prosecutions’ advice.
The magistrate, Mr. Musa Al-Yunus, remanded the defendant in the Nigerian Correctional Centre, Olokuta, Akure, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice, and then postponed the case to August 25 for mention.
