He said the accident happened on Thursday at Akpanya, near Koton Karfe, on the Abuja-Lokoja Road, when a Toyota Hiace bus collided with a DAF Articulated Vehicle.

He stated that seven people died instantaneously and five others were injured when the two vehicles collided.

“Our officers, who hurried to the area as soon as they were alerted, were able to assist in transporting the victims, particularly the injured, for medical assistance,” he said.

The injured were already brought to Koton Karfe Hospital, where they are being treated by medical staff, while the bodies were put at the mortuary, according to Samuel Dawulung.

He said that either of the involved cars violated the speed and route limits, and he recommended people, particularly drivers, to avoid nighttime driving and speeding, as well as to always keep their lanes to avoid road accidents.
