Adedamola Adefolahan, a Nigerian artist and composer known as Fireboy DML, has revealed the reason behind his hit song, Peru.
Parts of the lyrics were influenced by DMW star Peruzzi, who commonly uses a hook in his songs, according to the singer.
Fireboy realized he was referring to Peruzzi when he said “I’m looooo, Peru don dey para.”
YBNL Nation stated in a recent interview with Ebro Darden on Apple Music 1 that he recorded the song because it was his first time in the United States.
He explained that he was experiencing writer’s block at the time, so recording Peru was a spur-of-the-moment move.
The Vibration crooner claimed that he was nearly depressed at the time, and that when he came in Miami, USA, he was drawn in by the mood and experience he had after visiting a strip club.
