While the joint’s owner, who also lived on the same property, felt danger and fled out the back door, his pregnant wife was less fortunate as the guys tracked her into her kitchen and shot her to death.

One of the vigilante members, a young man by the name of Nonso, who was present at the joint attempted to flee but was also shot and killed.

The housekeeper who was helping out in the restaurant when the pregnant woman was there was shot in the leg and is currently being treated at a hospital.

Community sources claim that the gunmen had earlier entered a compound in Akwuke and demanded to see another young man. However, when the young man was not at home, the gunmen came for the owner of the bar, Hon. Felix Onyia, who served as the ward’s former councilor in the Enugu South legislative Assembly.

The incident, according to a witness who spoke with SaharaReporters under the condition of anonymity, was horrifying and disturbing.

I observed everything. When we heard the woman say, “Lie down, all of you,” I was drinking and waiting for the fish that I had requested her to prepare.

On the opposite side from Nonso, the shot vigilante was Hon. Onyia, also known as NwaGod. I immediately entered one of the rooms after they ordered us to lie down, and from there, I jumped through the window. They noticed me but did not shoot me.

Later, I discovered that they had shot Nonso, the security guard, in addition to NwaGod’s wife. Additionally, the girl who worked as a server in the beer bar was shot.

The command of the state police has not yet responded to this occurrence.
