Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, has suggested that he would take a chance by starting Erling Haaland against Liverpool on Saturday.

Due to a groin injury, Haaland withdrew from the Norway national team during the March international break. He got hurt in City’s penultimate match before the break, an FA Cup victory over Burnley.

On Thursday, rumours that Haaland had been missing from City’s training sessions two days before their crucial Premier League match against Liverpool went viral.

The 22-year-old Norwegian striker reportedly had to work out by himself in order to be back in shape before this weekend’s match. Because the game has only been going for less than 24 hours, it appears that his fitness level has not yet been determined.

Pep Guardiola mentioned in the pre-game news conference that the team’s doctors would need to reassess Haaland’s fitness before the game. But he said, “Life is full of dangers, and sometimes you have to take them.”

He added, “The doctors and, especially, the player will see how he feels.”

“We have scored a lot of goals this season and he has scored an incredible amount of goals. But we’ve always scored a lot of goals since we’ve been here.”

Erling Haaland, a 22-year-old Norwegian striker who transferred from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester City this summer, has scored a staggering 42 goals in 37 appearances this season, including 28 league goals in 26 games.

Manchester City must win every league match this season to have a chance of passing first-place Arsenal because they are now eight points behind the Gunners.

The kickoff for their match against Liverpool on Saturday at the Etihad Stadium is set for 12:30. (WAT).
