Chinko Ekun, a former musician, testifies as he recounts how, after losing his record deal, his battle with life nearly led to his suicide.
The musician, who is most known for his song “Able God,” opened up about the struggles he went through to become a sensation, lose his record contract, and achieve everything through music.
Chinko Ekun confessed that he once went to the beach intending to drown himself but changed his mind.
His words are;
Before you wake up, they’ve booked you, going to political shows, and they are paying you to do what you love to do. Then, and there was a lot of money. I have one of the biggest music in Nigeria titled able God. I was going for shows, and everything was just sweet.
I lost my record deal in 2020 after having an argument with my record deal manager, who got upset and told me to leave the house. As a result, I lost both my deal and my home and ended myself homeless.
I once got up at around 6 a.m., went to the beach, and contemplated jumping in because I don’t ask for help often because I try to always be content.
I argued with God, telling him that I had never worshiped anything else and that if I did so now, it would be his fault. My life altered three months after that incident. I was able to make some music recordings, collect my royalties, get back on my feet, find a place of my own, and even purchase the same car I had previously lost.
