Female churchgoers in South Africa received certificates attesting to their virginity. The action is intended to promote virginity among women in society.
In the northern region of Durban, South Africa, at Ebuhleni, sits the church known as Nazareth Baptist Church. It was learned that the church offered free virginity tests to women who attend and are at least 18 years old.
The church conducts the exercise every year, and those who successfully complete it are given a mark on their forehead in addition to a Certificate of Virginity. Every year, the event is greatly anticipated by the ladies.
The church normally administers the virginity test in the middle of the year, thus the certificate is rendered invalid by the middle of the following year when the next test is administered.
Yesterday, the church administered the test for the 2022–2023 session, and certificates were given to the ladies who passed. The Nazareth Baptist Church leader and the expert who conducted the test both signed the certificate.
