Laughter, Tears, and Goosebumps, Fireboy DML’s first studio album, was released in 2019. While Apollo, his sophomore album, was made available to the public on August 17, 2020.

Career

While an undergraduate at Obafemi Awolowo University, Fireboy DML’s musical exploration deepened. He started spending more time writing music, which he then recorded in a studio near the college. He eventually joined the group of up-and-coming musicians at the institution, which also included singer Asake and the rappers Chinko Ekun, Cheque, and Blaqbonez.

When Fireboy DML met YBNL Records’ head Olamide, his career as an artist was assured. The more established musician decided to sign him to YBNL Records after being impressed by his sound and songwriting skills.

Before it was re-released on March 25th, 2019, Jealous, his breakthrough single, had previously been released as a part of the label’s collaborative project, YBNL Family. This choice was made because the song was already doing well on the radio and regularly receiving a ton of airplay across stations.

What If I Say, his second single, was released on June 14th, 2019. The song, which Pheelz wrote and produced, cemented Fireboy DML’s reputation as a rising talent. TG Omori both directed and shot the What If I Say music video.

Fireboy DML released the number-one single King three months later, showcasing his brilliant artistry in the process. King received tens of thousands of streams in the weeks that followed its release. The music video for the song, which debuted on August 1st, 2019, was made by TG Omori.

On November 29, 2019, Fireboy DML finally finished recording his debut studio album, “Laughter, Tears, and Goosebumps,” to both critical acclaim and commercial success. Over 6 million Spotify streams were accumulated for the 13-track album in just three days.
