EPL: Klopp answers to Guardiola’s allegation that Liverpool is supported by everyone in England

Jurgen Klopp, the manager of Liverpool, has responded to Pep Guardiola’s suggestion that everyone in England wants Liverpool to win the Premier League this season.

Guardiola claimed during his post-match news conference after Man City’s 5-0 demolition of Newcastle United on Sunday that his squad did not receive as much media backing as Klopp’s side.

In response to Guardiola’s claim, Klopp stated that this is not the case.

The German also poked fun at Man City’s UEFA Champions League loss at the hands of Real Madrid, as Liverpool went to the final.

“I don’t know how Pep, after getting knocked out of CL and of course LFC made it to the final, we played Villarreal, they played Real Madrid,” Klopp said during his pre-match news conference on Monday ahead of Liverpool’s Premier League encounter against Aston Villa at Villa Park on Tuesday.

“I’m not sure if the entire country is behind us.” Perhaps he knows more than I do.”
