Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, has urged his team to recover from Sunday’s 7-0 thumping at the hands of Liverpool.
On Monday morning around nine in the morning, the team returned to the Carrington practice area.
Two hours prior, Ten Hag had arrived and assembled them for a brief discussion.
His letter’s main message was “What happened doesn’t destroy all the fantastic work we have done this season,” according to SportsMail.
The former Ajax manager also discussed the significance of avoiding depression and losing confidence.
Further meetings with Dutch sports psychologist Rainier Koers, whom Ten Hag had introduced to the team, would be beneficial, he claimed.
There was no replay of the game, but Ten Hag did play a few carefully chosen videos for his team in an effort to enrage them.
The opening leg of United’s next match is against Real Betis in the Europa League last-16 at Old Trafford.
