On Wednesday, unknown gunmen killed a gateman and robbed a group of Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) officials staying at the Mabila Hotel in Ikorodu, Lagos State.

SP According to Benjamin Hundeyin, a police spokesman for Lagos Command, who confirmed the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria, the JAMB personnel were evacuated to a secure location (NAN).

“Two phones, one HP laptop, and N20,000 cash were stolen from one Prof Odunsi, a Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) officer who lodged at the hotel,” Hundeyin stated.

He further said that two female JAMB officials who stayed at the hotel had their phones and jewelry stolen.

According to the spokeswoman, the gangsters shot the hotel’s gateman, only known as Peter, 40, who attempted to stop them from fleeing.

The gatekeeper was taken to an unnamed hospital, where he died, according to him, and his body was deposited at the Ikorodu General Hospital mortuary.

According to him, as the hoodlums noticed the police car approaching, they all fled in a Lexus SUV.
