Super DJ, composer, music producer, label head, and media personality DJ Spinall (born 2 June 1984), popularly known as Top Boy, is a Nigerian.

Known professionally as Oluseye Desmond Sodamola, DJ Spinall is a Nigerian entertainer.

Early Life

Sodamola Oluseye Desmond, better known as DJ Spinall, was born on June 2nd, 1984 in the economic hub of Lagos.

Alongside his five siblings, he grew up. He was the third child to arrive.

He is a Christian from the Yoruba tribe and was raised in a middle-class household in the historic city of Lagos before relocating to Ogun state in southwest Nigeria.

DJ Spinall was a major fan of a variety of musicians when he was younger, including Bob Marley, Lucky Dube, Legendary Onyeka Onwenu, and a host of others.

His first DJ job was in a church, where he was compensated with 500 Naira.

Education

DJ Spinall finished both his primary and secondary education in Lagos, where he also earned the required Senior School Leaving Examination (SSCE) and West African Examination Council (WAEC) diplomas.

After that, he went to school at Olabisi Onabanjo University in Ogun state, which is not too far from Lagos. There, he earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronic engineering.

Career

Nigerian DJ DJ Spinall is recognized for wearing a top hat as his signature look. In 2004, he began his career as a DJ for the Ray Power radio station in Lagos, which broadcast on the frequency 100.5 FM.

He rose to fame and even joined the Nite business, which promoted undiscovered artists.

Wande Coal, the then-superstar of Mavin Records, was thrilled with this DJ’s work and hired him as his personal DJ.

He began wearing a cutting-edge costume dubbed TheCAP thanks to his employment, which also allowed him to appear on TV and in certain music videos with Wande Coal. He claimed that his root culture held the key to his distinct identity.

Fans gave him the moniker “The Crazy Azz Party” acronym from TheCAP because they loved his mixes and his ability to turn up the party.

In 2014, DJ Spinall began to get more notoriety and established his record label and management business, TheCAP music.

Later, he hired crew members to support his brand Company and signed musicians to his label.

He released “GbaGbe E,” a smash hit single with Burna Boy, the following year.

DJ Spinall has worked with a variety of musicians, including 2baba, Wande Coal, Wizkid, Davido, Mr. Eazi, Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade, Kizz Daniel, Joeboy, and Fireboy DML.

In 2017, DJ Spinall made history by touring five American cities: New York, Houston, Miami, Washington, DC, and Austin. He was the first DJ of Nigerian heritage to do so. At the 2017 BET Awards in Los Angeles, he received recognition with the Official DJ of the Year title.
