Danny Murphy, a former Liverpool player, has selected Jurgen Klopp of Liverpool and Pep Guardiola of Manchester City as the best managers in the world.

He said this in response to Guardiola’s declaration that Liverpool is the favorite in England.

Despite being a former Liverpool player and a fervent fan, Murphy stated he has always praised Guardiola and his Manchester City club.

Danny Murphy claims that his support for the Reds has no bearing on his profession as a sports analyst because he is not allowed to be biased.

Guardiola, still hurting from Manchester City’s Champions League exit to Real Madrid, indicated there is a bias against Liverpool after his team hammered Newcastle 5-0 in the Premier League on Sunday.

Guardiola claimed that Manchester United and Liverpool are the two most important clubs in English history and that everyone, including the media, should support the Reds.

“I grew up a Liverpool fan and played for Liverpool, but I’ve eulogized Klopp and Guardiola equally and the level of football we’re seeing,” Murphy tells talkSPORT.

“It’s my responsibility to do it.” They are both fantastic teams that have been masterfully marshalled and guided by two of the top managers in the world.

“Every pundit I know, even my Liverpool friends, speaks highly of City.

“I work with Micah [Richards], who speaks highly of Liverpool because you have to tell what you see.”
